Ready to brainstorm your very own SIGNATURE senior portrait session? I know, I know - it’s overwhelming, but trust me— this will be amazing. And I've got your back every step of the way. So grab a cup of tea, cozy up, and let's start by breaking things down to a couple simple questions to ask your senior as we prepare to plan your signature session.
First things first, let's be clear— a signature session is about SO much more than just a yearbook photo. It's about building a positive self-image and self-esteem. Seeing how much these sessions boost a senior’s confidence is nothing short of amazing. As they gear up to step into the big world, this session is more than just an opportunity for nice pictures—it’s an empowering experience of being seen, valued, and celebrated for exactly who they are. And I’m all in for that.
Now, let's get into the details of crafting an unforgettable senior session. Where do we begin? Ask your senior these two simple questions, and we’ll be ready to start planning.
What would you like to wear?
Ask your senior what they’d like to wear for their portraits. Are they envisioning shorts or a sundress with a fresh tan? (hello summer!) Or perhaps they’re dreaming of a comfy, warm sweater with long pants amidst fallen leaves? (so perfectly autumn) Their instinctual choices will guide me in narrowing down the perfect date for your session. Our available dates range from July to October, keeping in mind that many high schools need portraits by October/November when seniors enter their final year.
Where would you like to be photographed?
Next, ask your senior about their ideal location for the portraits. Would they prefer a field of wildflowers, a rocky beach, a wooded trail, a rustic fence and barn? These preferences will guide me in selecting the perfect location for your session. And if you're stuck for ideas, Don’t Stress! I've got a bunch of tried and true locations to match any style you're after.

With the When + Where squared away, we can reserve your perfect date and make things official. Then we can all exhale... until it’s time to curate some outfits!
And Mama, don’t hate me for pointing it out, but this might also be the last chance for a family portrait before your kiddo spreads their wings and flies the nest. Yes. It’s hard to admit, but I always encourage we include a few family portraits during signature sessions.
